As many of you may know, us Chinafolk like to give out red envelopes stuffed with cold hard cash as a sign of good will during the New Year festivals. Now I like cash as much as the next guy, but this year, I'd like to invite you to join me in continuing a new variation on this old tradition that we started last year.

A new twist...

Instead of filling our envelopes with money, I'd like to fill them with something... a little more personal... something from the heart... whatever that may be, as long as it can fit inside a red envelope.

It can be:

  • a poem
  • a photo collage
  • old toe nail clippings (eeew!)
  • a good story your mama once told you
  • a drawing
  • anything that can fit in the little envelopes :)

Don't have to be super deep or super creative or anything.
This isn't a contest :)

You can leave it as anonymous or non-anonymous as you like

The point is just to share a little bit of ourselves.

I think that would be nice :)

So I welcome everyone to bring a little something to fill an envelope with when you come to the party (I'll provide plenty of envelopes). We'll put them in a big pot and draw from them randomly at midnight.

This way, we'll all have a little piece of each other to take home and start the New Year with.

Yeah :)!

I think that would be nice :)

Not sure about what to bring? Drop me a note and we can talk about it if you like :)

** PS:   ummm...
please don't actually bring toe nail clippings... I was just kidding about that... well... unless they are REALLY nice ones. You know, sometimes you get that big toe nail off in a perfect crescent... it always makes me feel like I won something...
